BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ A North Dakota group wants to raise money to help the state attract major film studios and start a Badlands-based film festival.
The organization is known as Young Four-Eyes Productions. It plans to unveil the North Dakota Film Fund project during a banquet at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park near Bismarck on Wednesday.
Group spokesman Rich Melheim says North Dakota's scenic beauty provides a good backdrop for filming and the fund could lead to economic and cultural benefits.
North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple and U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer are scheduled to speak at Wednesday's banquet.
